Denali National Park

Alaska  The Interior  Denali National Park
Delani National Park is an incredible, huge park that contains immense subarctic wilderness and stunning mt. McKinley - North America's highest peak.

Unfortunatey, the mountain is only visible on average 6 days a month. We visited in one of the other 24 days of the month...

Denali is also world famous for its wildlife. The park is accesible only by taking a park bus on its single dirt road.

We were lucky to see Brown Bears, Wolves, Caribu, moose and Arctic squirrels.

Eielson Visitor Center was our last bus stop. From here we continued on foot to explore the area.

In Denali NP they still use dog sleds in winter to visit and survey the huge winter wilderness. Dog sleds are economical and do not cause environmental pollution. The dogs are Alaskan Huskies (not Siberian Huskies) - and we had the pleasure of visiting them and seeing them demonstrate their sledding skills. They LOVE running with the sled and it looks like they are only waiting for winter to come already.
